Applian Technologies releases a breakthrough technology to record XM™ and Sirius™ Internet Broadcasts via stream capture.
San Anselmo, CA (PRWEB) December 18, 2007 -- Applian Technologies has just released an update to their flagship online media recording product, Replay AV, that offers the first ever stream capture recording of Sirius™ and XM™ satellite online radio broadcasts. At-Large Recorder 2.3 Helpful Hints
When you hear:
Start Recording At edit box - this is the field to enter either the minutes or hours for your recording. If you tab over one more time you land on the combo box which has either the minutes or hours choices.
Duration of Recording edit box is where you enter the channel number you want to record.
I explain the above because JAWS 8 does not read the above correctly. I used trial and error to figure what the above edit boxes do.
After you have setup your recording schedule you will be back on main interface of At-Large Recorder. If you do a insert+3 numpad keyboard command with JAWS 8 you will hear the status bar data read out like this:
Date & Start Time for Recording to begin

Media Catcher 2.10
I am pleased to say I am able to use the Media Catcher 2.10 application with Jaws 8 screen reader for the blind.
Note:
3 issues I have with Media Catcher are:
1. Do not press insert+ down arrow keyboard combination when using this program.
2. Press the ALT key and then right arrow 1 time to access the record menu bar. Do not use ALT+R as this conflicts with the Record button that appears on the program's interface.
The "_" button you hear is the minimize button.
The "X" button you hear is the close program.
3. You have to use your Jaws cursor in the listview box that appears on main interface of Media Catcher.
This listview box is where your recordings go.
When in this listview pressing your applications key to bring up the context menu popup does not work at this time meaning you have to use your Jaws cursor and do a Jaws right mouse click to activate the listview context menu popup list of choices.
The above are only my expereiences with this program.

Downloading YouSendIt Plugin Jaws Scripts
Petro notes:
1. For Replay AV 8.21 which uses the YouSendIt Plugin.
2. Applian Technologies had no part in these scripts. They were made by Brian Hartgen.
3. The YSI Jaws scripts are for Jaws version 7 through 9 according to Brian Hartgen.
4. Make sure that Replay AV 8.21 application is not running at all. Verify this both in your taskbar and system tray areas then install the YSI Plugin Jaws scripts.
Brian Hartgen's notes are below.
the scripts for the YouSendIt
plug-in for the
AV Replay program have been freely published. Shortly I will
create some
kind of page for them on my site, but the direct URL to download
the
installer is
http://www.hartgen.org/YouSendItreplay.exe
The installer is programmed to detect JAWS versions of 7.0
through to 9.0 at
the moment to cater for 9.0 when it is released later this year.
As was
pointed out on this list, version 6.20 does not work well with
Replay A V
and since these scripts are designed to meet a specific purpose
I have not
been concerned about that.
The functionality offered by the scripts is quite automatic as
follows:
1. When confronted with the licence agreement screen, ALT+A
equals accept
licence agreement, ALT+D equals decline licence agreement, ALT+V
equals view
licence agreement. I did not put hotkey help in here because
the tutor
message voice prompts you with this guidance automatically.
2. When focused upon the "sign in" or any other YouSendIt
screen, the
virtual cursor is automatically activated and you are advised of
this. From
this point just use the application as if it was a web page.
3. Insert Q gives you the scripts version number.
That's all, but at least for jaws users this plug-in is now
accessible.

YouSendIt and Applian Partnership
From the Applian blog and from January. I am not sure if this is available.
January 24, 2007
YouSendIt and Applian Partnership
Replay A/V is going to have an interface to
YouSendIt
, so you can send recordings to yourself from one PC to another device. How cool is that!
Here's the Press Release:
YouSendIt, Applian Partner to Record and Deliver Large Streaming Media Files Via the Web
Partnership Allows Customers to Retrieve Recorded Online Media Anywhere
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. & SAN ANSELMO, Calif. -- YouSendIt, Inc., the leader in web-based file delivery for business and Applian Technologies, the global
leader in software products for recording streaming media, today announced a partnership that will allow Applian customers to retrieve their recorded media
anywhere they have Internet access. The combined offering will enable users to capture, convert and send media with Applian's Replay A/V 8 and YouSendIt's
Web based file transfer service.
The YouSendIt Plug-In for Applian's Replay A/V 8 is the first to allow users to send streaming media files directly from within the application. Customers
can set up file transfer to start automatically after the recording is completed.
"YouSendIt is known to be very easy to use," says Ivan Koon, CEO, YouSendIt. "The integration into Replay A/V 8 allows users to send files directly from
within the application, eliminating the pain associated with using FTP or burning a CD and sending it via overnight mail."
"We are excited to partner with YouSendIt -- building the ease of use, speed, reliability and security of YouSendIt's solution into Replay A/V 8 will help
our customers record, convert and then retrieve their favorite recordings anywhere they have Internet access," said Bill Dettering, CEO, Applian. "The
combined solution will be the most powerful and versatile recording program on the market. Our customers will now be able to enjoy their favorite shows
wherever and whenever they like."
Replay A/V makes it easy to record all types of online media. Several hundred thousand Applian customers already benefit from the ability to record almost
any streaming audio and video instantaneously, or schedule recordings to happen automatically later. The integrated Replay Media Guide lets users pick
shows to record with a single click. Replay A/V is the only software that combines Stream Capture, Audio Recording and an Enhanced Podcast Client in one
easy-to-use interface.
The Replay A/V YouSendIt integration will allow users to receive captured streaming media files anywhere. For example, a home PC can record a radio show,
and customers will be able to listen to that show while at work or travelling.
Replay A/V with YouSendIt service will be available in March 2007, with a beta version in February.

Thor Schrock's Technology Blog
I read Thor Schrock's Technology blog at:
http://www.thorschrock.com/
This is a test. Schrock Innovations is going to try to make its MCHE v2 beta software accessible with the JAWS screen reader. He is moving his blog over to WordPress and I am not sure if WordPress uses the captcha verification but Thor will sign you up for his blog eliminating the captcha altogether if you are visually impaired.

Solution for .rm to .mp3 conversions
The below solution I believe is for Replay AV 8 users as far as I can tell. If you use RAV 7 contact Applian Tech support.
-----
Installing Replay Converter 2.6 should solve the problem. This will install
by default into the Replay A/V folder. Here's the link:
http://www.applian.com/files/RCSetup260.exe
-----
Petro adds:
This should fix the issue for the .rm to .mp3 conversions RAV 8 does for you after recording a stream for you or when you convert a real file already on your hard drive.
Helpful hints:
Close RAV 8 program. Just to be sure you should see no RAV 8 icon in task bar nor system tray.
Install the Replay Converter 2.60 program.
After you do the install. Restart your PC. If you have RAV 8 automatically start up every time you start up your computer then I would close RAV 8.
You should see a Replay Converter icon on your desktop or go to start menu, all programs (classic view), Replay AV 8, open it, then run Replay Converter program.
Choose the "about" button with space bar. See what version you have with your jaws cursor. You should see 2.60.
This is good practice. Just my opinion.
